San Antonio, Texas-based photographer Barry Berenson has spent his entire adult life in pursuit of capturing the essence of his experiences through photography and the fine print. A commitment to technical excellence and creative artistry has resulted in an extensive body of work representative of travel, music, nudes, and portraiture.
Born and raised in Bayside, NY, Barry demonstrated an early passion for music, sports, and “the interesting and characters I was exposed to from a young age”. The camera presented a way to communicate and share his vision with others in an individual and meaningful way.
After graduating from the Wharton School of Business in 1980, Barry headed north of Wall Street and immersed himself in the world of fashion photography in NYC. While still a student at Penn, he photographed his first album cover for Hot Tuna on RCA Records followed by many other jazz, reggae, roots, and rock albums.
“Professional photography has taken me all over the world and given me the opportunity to work with so many gifted and interesting people. It has always been my goal to take what is before me, find the essence of my feelings, and then capture and present it in a way that resonates with others.”
